On October 31, 2012, the third number of the Assassin franchise finally saw the light. From the moment the announcement, 10 million were issued. pre -orders. In the first week of sales, the game diverged with a circulation of 3.5 million. copies. For a month, this figure exceeded 7 million. According to the results of the third financial quarter, 13 million were already sold. copies. Thus Assassin’s Creed III has become the most successful and fast -saved project of Jubisoft. The game received the highest assessments from critics and game publications, but in the camp of players it was met very ambiguously.
Good for all the time of day, friends. Today we will try to understand what it is with you US Independence War Assassin’s Creed III
The third license plate, meets us with a new hero – a British aristocrat named Hayem Kenay. The new protagonist is not at all like those assassins whom we are used to seeing. He does not run on the roofs and does not wear a hood. He behaves noble and groggedly, walks the shouting along the London streets and visits the theater. However, the first impression is deceptive, and after a couple of minutes our killer receives the first order. Cutting around the lodges, balconies and backstage scenery, Hayem gets to his victim, quietly eliminates it, takes a strange greenish medallion and, as if nothing had happened, leaves the theater building.
In the next scene, Haetem arrives at a secret meeting, where it turns out that the medallion removed from the neck of the murdered is the key to the next repository of the first civilization, which presumably contains as if you thought that you thought? Well, of course, weapons of unprecedented power capable of conquering the whole world. However, this storage is located somewhere in the colonies of North America and on the shoulders of our hero are the mission to find it. Four other members of the Order who are already in Boston should help Heite in research.
Master Kenway goes to America. During the trip, he manages to fight with sailors, argue with the captain of the ship, reveal the conspiracy of the rebels and participate in the sea pursuit. And in the end, he arrives safely to Boston.
In the port he meets him Mikhail Boyarsky Charles Lee is a promising young lieutenant. Haytyem, among other things, is entrusted to experience the devotion of Lee and accept him in the ranks of the order. Together they gather the rest of the team members: landowner William Johnson, mercenary Thomas Hiki, Dr. Benjamin Church and young British officer John Pitkern. After which Hayem devotes the brothers to the details of his mission in the colonies.
Johnson recommends turning to the locals for help, but they refuse to cooperate with pale-faced ones because one of the British colonels is a certain Seelas abducts the Indians and sells them into slavery. Heitem decides to kill Silas, free the captives, and thus gain the trust of indigenous people. Taking advantage of the old Trojan method, Hayetem and the company penetrate the Fort Silas and implement the plan in life. However, the liberated Indians are in no hurry to penetrate confidence in their saviors.
Months pass. Winter comes, but the matter does not move off the ground. Hayem sets off in search of a girl saved from Fort Silas and finds her in the forest near Concord. Haytyem manages to establish contact with the girl, but she still does not trust him, because Kenoi’s compatriots oppress her people, and British General Braddok seizes land belonging to the indigenous people. Heetem knows well Edward Braddok, moreover, he once called him his brother, but once Braddok switched to the dark side and then their paths parted. Haytem promises Jio, help get rid of Braddok if she helps him to find the temple of the forerunner after that. The girl agrees. And during the notorious Braddok expedition, Hayetem kills a former comrade.
Dzio keeps his promise and leads the Englishman to the cave, where the door to the storage is located, but the key is not suitable. Then Heetem decides to tur in the colonies and organize a cell of the order in a new light. In addition, finally, Heetem accepts Charles Lee, who fully proved his loyalty in the ranks. And then there is a plot turn then in 2012, which looked very cool and unexpected, and probably forced many to admire the ingenuity of the scriptwriters. It turns out that all this time we played not for the assassin, but for the Templar.
– Now you are Templar!
After this, the game made a huge jump in time, and under our control it was no longer a Hayem, but the fruit of its vicious connection with Gadzijio.
CONNOR
So, as it turns out, after a four -hour prologue, the main character of the third part, it turns out that the British Shchegol Heitem is not, but his illegitimate son – Radunhanhada. From the book of Oliver Bowden “The abandoned” we learn that Hayetem spent some time together with Gadzijio, indulging in love joys in the wilds of the frontier, but their paths parted when it turned out that Heitem Templar, and Jio helped the cause of colonial assassins. The Englishman left the girl a gift in the form of his offspring as a souvenir. Dzio did not tell Haytem about pregnancy and raised her son in the traditions of the Mogavki tribe.
Once in childhood, Radunhagada went to play hide and seek with friends in the forest. At this time, Charles Lee and other Templars attacked his village. They searched for a particle of Eden and staged a fire in which Gadzijio died.
The boy was coming. He became a strong and dexterous young man. On the day of her age, the mother of the clan, opened the secret of the tribe. She showed him a ball, allowing him to establish a connection with ancient spirits.
Touching the ball, Radunhanhade heard a voice that told him about the Templar conspiracy, and that he was intended to stop these people with fate. To do this, he must leave the village and go east, find a symbol of the Assassins, and ask the carriers of this symbol of knowledge.
Obeying the divine voice, the young man leaves his native village. The fate and marker on the player’s map lead him to a large but dilapidated mansion, on the coast of the Atlantic. Here, Radunhanhada meets the bearer of the symbol – a lame old man named Achilles Davenport.
The boy asks to teach him. The old man rests for a while, but in the end agrees to the training of a daring boy. It turns out that Achilles mentor of the colonial fraternity of the Assassins. Once the brotherhood flourished in America, but after Heetem Kenay arrived in the colony and organized a new cell of the Templars here. Assassins suffered a series of crushing defeats and the brotherhood on the mainland was almost completely destroyed. Since then, Achilles lost faith in the credo and retired, and the Templars without hindrance woven their insidious plans.
Assassin’s Creed III, unlike the previous parts of the series, talks in great detail about the American Revolution. But only if you know how to separate the grains from the chases. Therefore, today, I will talk about the significant events of the American revolution in parallel with the promotion of the plot of the game. And in order not to cause confusion, I will highlight italics text during a story about real events, and remove it during the story of the plot of the game.
The premises of the revolution
And we will start with those events that have preceded the revolution. In the XVII century, relations between colonies and the British Empire developed, if not friendly, then quite mutually beneficial. Colonists were cooked in their own juice. Britain, on the other hand, provided the colonies with uninterrupted trade and protection from the Spaniards and French, while very successfully speculating on the import and export of goods. Everyone was in the plus. The first and main catalyst of the revolution was the Franco-Indian war, which began with a dispute between Britain and France, for the North American lands, and eventually poured into a seven-year war, whose theater was stretched almost throughout the globe. England won that war, and actually became the largest colonial power, completely squeezing the French from North America. But there was nothing to celebrate the victory to King George. Is it a joke, but as a result of a seven -year war, the public debt of Britain has almost doubled. The empire was on the verge of economic collapse.
Nicholas Paul. "Battle in the Quiberon Gulf" (1759)
It was necessary to somehow urgently restore the economy. And the parliament of Britain thought: – We mean fought, climbed into debt, so we captured the entire North American continent. Of course, we did all this for the sake of our beloved colonists. So let the colonists now help their loving metropolis. Thought I thought the parliament and put the colonies with such taxes that the loop around the neck would have strangled less than the new economic system. Massachusets, who suffered the most from new taxes, sent a petition to King George, hinting the monarch without excessive aggression so that he would not be impudent and not too much. In response, Britain sent troops to Boston to restore order, and continued to issue laws on taxation, each of which was absurd than the previous. The tension began to grow rapidly. So far, colonial figures, such as Benjamin Franklin, tried to reach the parliament and settle the ripening conflict in the arena of political debate. On Boston streets, a radical movement of local activists called "Sons of freedom".
Bostonian massacre
On the morning of March 5, 1770, Achilles went to Boston to buy tools and materials for repairing a house. He takes with him Radunhanhage. Upon arrival in the city, Achilles sends a young man to a store for goods. By the way, it is at this moment that he gives the student a new name – Connor.
While Connor makes purchases.
In three quarters from it, a bike begins between a group of citizens and a British guide. The crowd is growing. No one is understanding what’s the matter. Soon the scandal covers the entire King Street, the buzzing crowd surrounds the fast. A detachment of captain Thomas Preston comes to the rescue of the poor man. The officer is trying to calm the crowd, strictly forbidding the soldiers to open fire. Bostonians in every possible way provokes soldiers. "Fire!" – they shout, and together with a cry in the British flies a salvo of snow and dirt.
Conor leaves the store and is curious in the direction of human screams. In the square, he meets with Achilles, who froze watches the brawl. Achilles points to the Templars who clearly think something and asks Connor to follow one of them.
Conor follows the Templar on the roof of one of the buildings, and sees that he wants to shoot and provoke a massacre. Assassin stops him. But the Templars have a backup plan – Charles Lee.
Hearing a shot, the soldiers closed in a corner open the fire on the colonists. Panic begins. Soldiers pursue Conor, confident that it was he who is to blame for what happened. One of the leaders of the “Sons of Freedom” – Samuel Adams, who teaches Conor to get rid of the pursuers, the old grandfather way to tear off the posters and giving bribes, and then helps the guy get to the estate’s estate help.
According to the official version, during the skirmish, soldiers shot three and wounded eleven Bostonians, two could not recover from wounds and died in the hospital. After the incident, the shooting soldiers, along with Captain Preston, were arrested. During the trial, it turned out that the cause of the massacre was an ordinary Montgomery. The young soldier could not stand the pressure of the crowd and first discharged his gun, thereby provoking other soldiers.
The lithography of the XIX century, based on the engravings of Revir about the Bostonian massacre.
Over the next 3 years, Achilles continues to train Conor. He teaches the young man not only the Assassin craft, but also the management of the estate and doing business, as well as introduces the old sea wolf Robert Fulkner. Connor helps Folkner restore the flooded ship – “Aquilu”, and the sailor in gratitude teaches the Assassin to manage the ship and the conduct of sea battles.
Boston tea party
In 1773, Connor is 17 years old. He is full of strength and determination, but Achilles is in no hurry to throw the student into the embrasure. However, fate once again decides everything for the hero. From a childhood friend Ganadogon Connor learns that Templar William Johnson wants to acquire the land of Mogavki without the consent of the Indians and demolish the village of Connora. Paphose driving the ax of war into the porch of the estate, Connor goes to Boston to deal with the Templar. In Boston, he finds Samuel Adams, and learns from him that William Johnson is profiting on the import of British tea, and if Connor wants to deprive the Templar of funds, he should help patriots boycott the supply of tea.
Adams and Lee are watching the tea party
With tea is generally an interesting story. In those days, a monopoly on his export from India and China belonged to the East India Company. Because of what English tea becomes unclaimed and soon the whole tea deposits accumulate in British warehouses. Parliament decides to sell tea to colonists at cost. It seems that the colonists will finally receive cheap tea and will be happy with a profitable offer, and Britain will not suffer tremendous losses. So to speak, the sheep are whole and wolves are full. But not everything is so simple, the prices of tea, although significantly reduced, but the tax against which the colonists fought for so long remained. And it turns out that having accepted the colonists from the metropolis from the metropolis, it seems, as they agree with tax, and this will create a precedent, which in the future will be able to justify more and more new taxes. In general, colonists boycott the supply of cheap tea. And if in New York, Philadelphia and Charlestone, ships with cargo, it is possible to deploy and send home, then in Boston Governor Khatchinson is stubbornly standing on his own and forbids the ships to leave the harbor without tax. In the meantime, the striking surrounds the ships and do not allow unloading the goods. A path situation is added up. Which they try to resolve at a gathering near the old Southern House of Meetings, but the parties can not reach consent in any way, and in the end Samuel Adams declares “this meeting cannot do anything else to save the country” and defiantly clapping the door leaves, after it the rest is dispersed and everyone else is dispersed and everyone else. And already the same evening, a group of people dressed under the Indians, illegally penetrates British ships and dumps 600 thousand feet of selected brewing into the ocean, as a result of which the entire bay turns into a giant cup of tea … mmmm … However, the English gentlemen behind the ocean do not evaluate a similar gesture and announce the introduction of a military position in the state Massachusetts, cordon off the Boston harbor and introduce even more troops in order to suppress the uprising.
a series of brands of 1973, depicting the scene of the Boston tea party
Connor also takes part in the destruction of tea and thus deprives William Johnson for the purchase of land of mogavs. Upon returning to the estate, he listens to Achilles’s lecture that Johnson had to be killed, otherwise he will not stop and will still find a way to achieve his. So it happens, after six months, Connor finds out that William Johnson is preparing a contract of sale of Indian lands. Connor penetrates the Johnson’s estate and this time will take his life.
Battle of Lexington and Concord
After Boston tea drinking, the British government applies tough sanctions against Bostonians. All trade routes are overlapped in the city, folk assemblies and associations are dispersed, and the “sons of freedom” are outlawed. In April 1775, the British leadership became aware that the “Sons of Freedom” was gathering forces in the Concord – a small town 32 kilometers from Boston. On April 19, under the cover of the night, the regiment of the British army is advanced to Concord. Their tasks include arresting the leaders of the rebellion, confiscation of weapons and the dispersal of violent farmers home. The effect of the surprise that the British put on was tortured. Patriots in Boston learn about the plans of the British and the same night, several horsemen, led by Paul Revir, go to Lexington and Concord to warn the colonists about the sudden visit of regular troops.
Among these horsemen was Connor. He received a letter from patriots with the news that one of the British detachments of the Concord was commanded by Templar John Pitkern, which is why the assassin goes to the aid of the patriots. Connor helps the Revir Paul to get to Lexington, then the audir goes alone, and Connor remains in the town, intending to deprive the Pitkern of life here.
The only scene in the game in which a naked woman appears
Closer to morning, the first detachments of the British get to Lexington. In the field on an approach to the city, the British meets an inorganized crowd of colonists with guns at the ready. Pitkern for thewestern intimidation builds his soldiers in battle formations, and then orders the colonists to lay down their weapons and diverges home. Colonists do not obey his order. None of the parties is going to retreat, but neither those nor the other are in a hurry to attack. Probably they would stand until the very night, if someone had not surrendered his nerves. It is not known for certain who shot the first. Subsequently, both sides will shift the responsibility to each other, but it was this shot that provoked a massacre in Lexington and is considered the first in the war for independence. Colonists open a random fire. British give an organized volley. The first sacrifices fall to the ground, after which the rebels take to flight.
Conor wants to rush into battle, but the commander of the colonists John Parker stops him. He asks Assassin to retreat to Concord, warn the militia there and tell about what happened in Lexington. Reluctantly Conor agrees.
By the time regular troops arrive at https://nogamstop-casinos.co.uk/review/spins-heaven/ Concord, the colonists have already been warned. They manage to hide most of the weapons and hide in the nearest forest. The British begin to search the city, leaving a small detachment to guard the North bridge. Colonists from the hill are observing what is happening in the Concord. In the end, Colonel Barrett, who commanded the militias, does not withstand and orders to charge the muskets and get closer to the bridge. At the disposal of Barrett there were 5 companies of minimatmen and 5 companies of militias from Akton, only about four hundred fighters. Barrett’s forces descend to the river, and here the script is repeated, which has previously played in Lexington a few hours. The commanders on both sides strictly forbid their fighters to shoot first, but again the unknown violates the order and opens fire. The shootout begins. This time the colonists are four times more than the British. The British suffer the first serious losses and are forced to retreat to the city. The rebels are preparing for the fact that the British are regrouped and returning with reinforcement, but to universal surprise, regular troops are rebuilt and begin an organized retreat. At that moment, the colonists could not believe their success. They are simple farmers, entered the battle with the best army in the world and, without realizing it, won. In the veins of the rebels, blood boils, now nothing can stop them, and the militias rush in pursuit of retreating British.
This is what the old North bridge looks like today
However, the events of the game draw a slightly different picture and a chaotic shootout at the bridge according to the anniversary of the anniversary looks like an organized battle, the command of the militia detachments in which Barrett puts on Connor.
Be that as it will as a result, the British with an organized system retreat to Boston, and the colonists accompany them firing from the forest. Seeing that militias literally drive red uniforms with kicks, more and more settlers join the rebels. Now literally from every farm, from each haystack, bullets and cobblestones fly into the retreating army. The British suffer serious losses and in the end their system collapses and red uniforms run into the city sparkling with heels. Colonists drive offenders to Boston himself. And then, instead of dispersing on the taverns and celebrating a small victory, they surround the city and begin a full -scale siege. Now it is already clear to everyone that the jokes are over.
Battle of Banker Hill
Boston in those days is on the peninsula connecting to the continent with a thin strip of land. The colonial troops surround the peninsula and do not let the British out of the city, but they themselves cannot attack, because the British ships conduct artillery shelling along the rebel jokes approaching close distance. Reinforcements from London begin to arrive in the city. To take full control over the bay, the British commanders decide to capture the Charlestown peninsula, adjacent to the harbor from the north. June 15, 75, the English fleet approaches Charlestown and lands on the shore landing. What was the surprise, British officers, when in the morning after the landing, they find an enemy rediot on the hills of Banker and Brids Hill. In just one night, the colonists were able to dig fortunes and take strategic positions on the peninsula. The command decides to go on a frontal attack on the strengthening of the colonists. British generals are sure that the organized system of regular troops with a wave will sweep away any resistance of the settlers, and it will already be possible to celebrate the victory with a cup of hot tea to lunch. If they only knew how much they were mistaken.
Connor learning that Pitkern will command one of the regiments, arrives at Brids Hill and contacts the commander of the patriots Israel Patnem. Patnem informs Connor that Pitkern had settled in Charlztown and lure it until British ships from the harbor shell the positions of patriots. Having made an epic race on the suburbs, under the artillery accompaniment, Connor penetrates the ships and makes the guns shut up. In fact, everything was a little different, well, let’s not go into details.
The British act on a frontal attack, which is instantly choked. The British are firing ineffective in such positioning with non -intended volleys. The calculation in such shooting is primarily for the quantity, and not the quality of the shooters. American units, which consisting to a greater extent of hunters, trappers and minimeters with aimed gun shooting from a height literally mow the rows of the British. The second attack of the British breaks off in the same way as the first. And only on the third attempt to red uniforms manages to take a height and make the rebels retreat.
While hot battles are going on at the heights engaged in heights, Connor makes his way to the Moidon Hille, where Pitkern’s unit was performed. Assassin is selected to the Templar and delete his name from his list.
The death of General Waren on Banker Hill
The British won that day. Charlestown was under their control, only this victory became for the British Pirrova. More than a thousand red uniforms were killed on the banker-Hill, there were half the victims from the colonists of the victims. But the most important thing is that the battle of Banker Hill showed that uncouth farmers are quite capable of in an open field to give the glorious royal army in the open field. This raised the morale of the Americans, and forced the British in the future to conduct fighting more carefully.
Independence declaration
It becomes obvious that the war is gaining a serious turn. The Continental Congress, who met in Philadelphia and throughout the war actually played the role of the national government, in June 75 decides to create a continental army, led by a volitional but modest general George Washington. Under the command of Washington, the young army manages to finally take control of Boston. In 1776, Congress began to seriously think about independence. If until now, the only thing for the colonies fought was a fair attitude towards themselves from the crown, now it becomes obvious that it will not be possible to achieve mutual consent with Britain. There is only one way out of this situation – a break in all ties with England and a declaration of complete political and economic independence. Deputies entrust the writing of a public announcement of independence to the young and silent planter from Virginia – Thomas Jefferson. Which rolls out such a sheet of text to the public, that when it reads it, the eyes climb on the forehead not only among the delegates of the congress, but also from politicians throughout Europe.
“We proceed from that self -evident truth that all people are created
equal and endowed with their creator by certain inalienable
rights that include life, freedom and the desire for
happiness. To ensure these rights, people are established
governments drawing their legal powers from consent
controlled. If any form of government
becomes destructive for these purposes themselves, the people have the right
change or abolish it and establish a new government,
based on such principles and forms of organizing power,
which, as it seems to him, will best provide
people security and happiness."
Jefferson wrote not just the US Independence Declaration. In fact, he rolled a declaration of freedoms and human rights in general. Of course, with a reservation, which is a free white man by a person in the XVIII century. Well, the story is silent that Jefferson himself was one of the largest slaveholders in the south. Be that as it may, July 4, 1776 Congress unanimously accepts and signs the declaration, and the rebellious colonies from this day become the United States of America.
Tragedy in New York
After such a spiritualized start, the revolutionaries are destined to face brutal reality. After the retreat from Boston, the British troops are regrouped, wait for reinforcements and step on New York by all means. Washington and his army are defending the city. On August 22, 1776, colonists with a bang lose the largest battle for Long Island for the entire time of the war. The continental army is forced to surrender the city and retreat. After that, the British troops crowd the Americans further north, and Washington will lose almost all of their battles until the spring of the 78th year. Retreating from New York, the Commander-in-Chief was thinking about setting fire to the city so that it would not go red-button, but did not dare. However, the fire still happens, And we can observe its consequences in all its glory in the game.
Connor arrives in New York just after the retreat of the continental army. Assassin opens the hunt for the next Templaire on his list Thomas Hiki. The first serious trials await the assassin here. He goes to jail and almost finds himself on the block. Still at the last moment, comrades come to the aid of Connor. Assassin kills Hiki and thereby saves Washington’s life.
Thomas Hiki was actually a bodyguard George Washington. On July 28, 1776, he was chopped off his head for an attempt to attempt on the life of the commander in chief.
Wintering in Velly Fordj
With the onset of the winter of the 77th year, fighting subsides, and the continental army rises to the winter in the Vallo-Forder Valley. Here Americans are waiting for even more severe trials than war. During the wintering in Valley Ford, the army loses up to a quarter of its composition from diseases and frostbite. Nevertheless, as is commonly believed here, the American army tempered and turned into a single disciplined army from the rabble of armed farmers. In addition, the old British enemies finally turn their attention to the colonial war. France and Spain are beginning to provide feasible help to the young nation. Such prominent figures as Baron von Schoben and the Marquis de Lafayette arrive in the States and begin to train American commanders with combat tactics and strategic maneuvers.
Connor arrives in Welli Forge with intentions to warn Washington that Templars were hunting for his head. Despite the objections of Achilles, Connor wants to devote the general to the secret confrontation of two orders. However, immediately upon arrival at Valley Forsa, he learns that Benjamin Church betrayed the patriots and stole several supports of supply from them. Connor sets off in the wake of a heb and first face his father.
From father, Connor learns that the Templars in this war are not at all on the side of Britain. Heitem says that they are just like patriots for independence and order. But unlike the rebels, the Templars are trying to come to independence peacefully. William Johnson was supposed to buy the lands of Ganyaheh and protect them from the influence of the crown. John Pitkern to achieve peace between colonists and Britain through negotiations. Hiki kill Washington, because he, according to the Templars, a weak leader and an inept strategist. As an argument by Hayem, the fact that the army under his leadership lost almost all the battles leads. However, the naive Connor threw all their plans with his actions and thus unleashed a bloody war.
However, Heetem is ready to accept and forgive the prodigal son. He says that Church betrayed not only patriots, but also the Templars and should die for it. Connor lends itself to the persuasion of the father and together they track and kill the treacherous doctor.
Battle of Monmouth
In October of the 77th, even before Washington’s army stood for wintering in Walley Ford, an episode that became a turning point in the whole war-the battle of Saratog. The battle ended with the first major victory of American troops. Unfortunately, this episode of the war in the game was not sanctified, but it was after the battle of Saratog that the French and the Spaniards decided to openly enter the war on the side of the United States, which completely changed the British strategy. General Clinton, who commanded the English troops, left Philadelphia and retreated to New York to prevent the Frenchmen from capturing the city.
Morgana detachment in the battle of Saratog
Connor and Hayem, meanwhile, continue to work together. They manage to find out that the loyalists intend to leave Philadelphia and strengthen in New York. Together they go to Washington to tell him good news. And at the moment when everything seemed to be the best, Connor recognizes the bitter truth.
From the secret correspondence of Washington, it turns out that the commander in chief ordered Ganadazon to destroy, because the Indians sided with Britain, and Connor also finds out that it was by order of Washington that his village was burned 14 years ago when Gadzijio died.
Assassin is in a hurry to his native village and tries to stop the conflict breeding between the Indians and Patriots. He succeeds, but at a high cost.
Connor kills his best friend. From his dying speech, he learns that Charles Li was going to Montmut to bring Washington’s troops and put an end to this war.
During Clinton from the Philadelphia, Charles Lee was the deputy of Washington. He was instructed to defeat Clinton with a front attack. However, believing that his strength in the minority (as it really was) retreated directly to Washington’s orders, creating chaos and confusion in the ranks of the continental army.
Connor, as always, manages on time, with the help of one gun and platoon, soldiers break the course of the battle, allowing the patriots to regroup and force the loyalists to retreat. After the battle, Connor meets Washington and tries to convince him that Charles Lee Lee, but the general is frivolous about Connor’s words.
After the battle, Washington publicly reported whether. Charles responded with bustling, non -disinfection and was placed under arrest. Later he was judged by the tribunal for disobeying direct orders and an open disrespect for the commander in chief, finding guilty and removed from the service for a year.
Battle in Chesapik Gulf
Several more years pass. Allied forces are squeezing the British on all fronts. Connor finds out that Washington pardoned Charles Lee. Now Templar took refuge in New York in Forte George and surrounded himself with an entire army. Connor, along with Lafayet, is developing a plan to kill Lee. Their plan lies in the fact that the French fleet will approach the fort from the sea and fire it, but while the Templars will be distracted, Connor will get out of underground tunnels and in the turmoil will eliminate whether it will be eliminated.
But before the French fleet approaches New York, he needs to overcome the British blockade in the Chesapic Gulf.
In July 1781, the French Admiral de Grass faced a choice, attacking British troops in New York or Virginia. He chose the last and arrived in Chesapik in late August. Upon learning that de Grass went from West India to North America, the British Admiral Graves led his fleet from the New York harbor and went to Chesapik to defeat the French fleet until he received reinforcements. The meeting of the British and French fleets took place at the mouth of the Chesapik Gulf on September 5, 1781. And resulted in a long and strange battle, in which both sides made controversial and ridiculous maneuvers, and in the end simply dispersed, like ships in the sea, although why like? However, this battle became the decisive battle of the sea and in fact, it was it that contributed to the end of the war.
The thing is that while the two admirals played chess on the water. The English General Cornulis turned out to be cut off in Yorrtaun. His troops could not be evacuated and receive reinforcements from the busy do not understand than the Royal Fleet. As a result, Cornwallis devoid of support and supply. His surrender was actually a defeat of Britain in this war.
In the game, we observe how Connor helps the French fleet, protect the bay. After that, the French ships approach the Harbor of New York and at the signal begin to fire Fort George. Assassin, meanwhile, makes his way to Lee’s citadel, but instead of Charles meets there with his father. Running from fate will no longer be possible. Assassins and Templars will always be enemies, even regardless of blood ties. In a difficult fight, Connor kills Haytem.
The end of the war
After the surrender of Cornwallis, the war lost support in the UK itself. On March 20, 1782, Prime Minister North resigned, after he made a vote of no confidence. In April 82, the House of Commons voted to end the war. Great Britain sat down at the negotiating table in Paris. On November 30, 1782, a truce was concluded, and on September 3, 83rd England recognized the independence of the United States.
The outcome of the war is a foregone conclusion. But Vendetta Conor is not over yet. Having shaved on the head the traditional Iroquois Mogavkov, Assassin goes to Boston for his head. During the long action of the chase, he finally overtakes his target in one of the taverns of the frontier and takes away the life of the last Templar on his list. The same amulet-key is removed from the body of whether Connor, which has united American Templars.
Engraving made by a contemporary Charles Lee
In fact, the game is largely lucid. After the tribunal, Lee tried his best to cancel the verdict, but Congress remained deaf to him. Then Lee moved to the direct public insults of Washington and was finally fired from the service in January 1780. He settled in Philadelphia and died in his bed in 1782 from a fever.
After the death of the last Templar, Connor returns to the estate Davenport will remove the poster of his victims from the wall, burns them, pulls the ax of war from the porch and goes to his native village. But instead of joyful fellow tribesmen, here he will be desolation and a lonely hunter who will tell Connor that the government of the new country forced the Indians to leave their lands and go further west, and these fertile plains now belong to some master from New York.
With heavy thoughts, Connor walks around an empty village and finds, a fateful ball. Having contacted him, Connor hears the same voice as many years ago. The spirit says that now Connor must hide the amulet taken from Lee, where no one will find it. After which the vision disappears and the ball scatters to dust.
Connor returns to the Davenport estate and burns an amulet on a hill, next to the graves of the son and wife of Achilles. This is where the game ends.
But thanks to the fourth release of the comic book “Reflections”, we know that Connor married a girl from the Iroquois tribe and they had two daughters and son. The wife threw Connor when she found out that he was forced to live according to the laws of the Brotherhood of the Assassins, as Konnor’s mother once abandoned his father.
However, the youngest daughter of Connor, who was named Yonyo, inherited Orlin’s eyesight from her father and the mother allowed her to educate her as an assassin. By the way, the girl knew how to see the eyes of the eagle, like how the shy does it.
Lyrical retreat
Americans love to encourage and hyperbolize the events of those days, unnecessarily romanizing the image of the patriot. In Europe, opposite the achievement of the American revolution, it is often to belittle and call the war for the independence of the lazy fuss of the decaying British Empire with the Sivolap farmers. To some extent, European historians are right, because if we compare the war for independence with European wars, and at least with the same Seven Years, this is a completely different level. The scale of the battles are incommensurable, the size of the armies and fleets is not comparable, and losses were carried out only for some miserable tens of thousands. So whether this revolution had at least some significance for world history?
John Adams The 2nd President of the United States is a fat elderly man for 60 with long gray hair, standing for half a turn to the left. Gilbert Stewart. National Gallery. Washington.
10 kilometers south-east of Boston, a small town of Cuinsey spread out, there is a small church, which is popularly called the Church of the presidents. In the crypt under the church, the second president of the United States John Adams was buried. John’s father was a Puritan pastor, mother of a nurse, and John himself worked as a teacher at a parish school. He studied law and was admitted to lawyer practice. John became a prominent political figure and one of the founders of the founders. He went a long way from a simple teacher to the president. For millennia before him in Europe and in the whole world, a man was dying who was born. The life and career of John Adams is the answer to the question for what the Americans fought for and what is the meaning for history their revolution. The principles and ideas on which the United States of America were formed, became the foundation of democracy, on which all modern society will be based.
Gameplay
Fuh, well, finally, the plot is over, which means you can talk about the gameplay component. At the stage of development of the anniversary, they promised that the third part of the franchise would be a conceptually new product, very different from what was earlier in the series. Let’s understand whether the developers have restrained the word.
Development Manager Assassin’s Creed IP Tommy Francois In his interview, he said that for the third part the company developed a new engine – Anvilnext. It will allow you to display at the same time up to 2000 characters on the screen, will implement dynamic weather and completely rebuild the animation system.
And indeed, at the first glance at the game, the possibilities of the new engine are immediately cast. The player has two huge cities of Boston and New York, as well as the extensive wooded territory of the frontier. Visually, the game at the time of exit looked gorgeous, not only the daily cycle appeared, but also the annual. Summer was replaced in winter. The fields were covered with snow. The streets of cities were teeming with life. A huge variety of animations accompanied the movements of each character.
The crucified parkour on trees allowed to run only along the artificially made developers of routes
The player noticed the first changes in the mechanics during parkour. Now he has become even more intuitive and at the same time casual. There was no trace of the high and low rack, and the character himself made large and small jumps, depending on the architecture. The movements became smooth and diverse, during the battle it seemed at all that blows and finishing were almost never repeated, so many animations were drawn and introduced using a new engine.
However, the veil from the eyes fell very quickly. Although the fighter looked beautiful and diverse, in fact, her mechanic did not change on an iot, all the same attacks and parries, starting a mini kat-scenes, all the same nickname enemies, all the same four types: private, pitching, dodger and officer. However, now a new engine instead of small groups of 3-4 people spat entirely detachments of 8 soldiers. This does not add difficulties, but absurdities. After all, a crowd of enemies, as before, will passively stand on the sidelines and helpfully approach Connor to accept cuffs of strictly three people.
AI became even dumber, the townspeople really sluggishly react to everything that happens around them, but this stupidity is most noticeable again in the behavior of enemies. I’m not talking about the blindness of the guards who did not notice the one who was persecuted less than a minute ago – this has acquired the status of a local meme from the time of the first part. But that it is strictly striking brightly is the sacrifice of the blanks. You can cut out a whole company of nonsense and each of them will fight until the end. Even remaining the last survivor some skinny battleship, he will rush on the attack on the butcher alone who interrupted all his comrades. This is where truly dementia and courage. Even in the first part, the enemies saw Altair’s superiority surrendered or scattered in horror.
There were no significant innovations in the combat arsenal. Connor possessed clinking, crushing, short and two -handed cold weapons, hidden blade and poisonous darts. Only an authentic tomahawk was added, and the gun from the wrist migrated to the belt in accordance with the trends of the era. And also from defeated soldiers, it was possible to pick up a musket with high slaughter at a distance and a lifting bayonet in close combat. A bow came to the crossbow. The only truly new weapon is Chinese Shen-Baoo, inherited by the Brotherhood from Shao Jun.
In the battle, as before, you can resort to the help of students, only if before they could take all the work on them, now in an open battle they flew away from any ordinary infantryman. Of course, they can be pumped by sending them, as before, you often forget about it, but the game does not even try to remind, and secondly they cannot be caused in some tasks and outside the city. But each of them is now a unique person with his history and skills. For example, the clipper has the ability of sniper shooting and can eliminate the target at a decent distance, and Dobby ..
No, not this one
… knows how to lure the target, just as thieves did in the previous parts. By the way, from old fractions – courtesans, thieves and mercenaries in Assassin’s Creed III decided to completely refuse.
But new mechanics were added even more dubious, such as walking along the dungeons in order to open points of quick movement, and an absolutely mediocre and groaning hacking locks.
What else is worth mentioning this is the search system. She became like GTAY, now the more Connor violates the law, the more he has the search badges. If, with one, the guard reluctantly pays attention to the assassin, then with three it opens a full hunt, and the streets are filled with elite fighters – huntsmen who are looking for a recidivist for nooks and gateways.
One of the most controversial changes affected additional tasks in missions. If earlier they were called upon to somehow correctly complicate and diversify the gameplay, forcing the player to steal, use the help of recruits and use the entire range of abilities and Assassin arsenal, now these tasks are often most absurd, and sometimes practically impossible
like this task for example. It is necessary to sink all three frigates using faults. I could not fulfill this quest 100% because I pumped Aquilu so much that enemy ships simply drowned from on -board volleys without even giving the opportunity to shoot from a fawk
Enough in the game and bugs. But maybe it’s just so lucky.
As for additional content, the game is really fine here. Having run exclusively in the plot, you covered only 50% of total progress. All because the good half of the game occupies sideways and additional activity.
Here you have hunting missions and a fighting tournament, in the final boss in which there was an evil feminist and funny adventurers’ quests, with the exposure of various colonial legends, and traditional courier instructions and the capture of enemy forts, which replaced the capture of the Templars and finally a full opportunity Cow!
Collective objects have not disappeared. You can collect the pages of Franklin almanacs, chests, feathers and trinkets of one -legged in the frontier and cities. The latter, by the way, are necessary for the execution of the quest line to search for the treasures of the famous pirate William Kid. During these tasks, Connor will visit many legendary places such as the Dead Street in the Caribbean, or the ghost of the Octavius, frozen in the ice of the Arctic, and the reward for the labors will be the Baptist Ring, which creates a shield around Connor, is like a barrier from the masses of the effect.
Suddenly, one of the coolest content innovations were ship missions, which became a sip of fresh air in the gameplay who had tired over the years. After Connor helped Folkner restore Aquilu. They shook along and across the Atlantic.
“Paul sail,” the captain gives the command,
– Paul sail, guys! – loudly duplicates the landmaster.
Sailors on the deck begin to fuss, the sail drops, the ship slows down. Connor begins to rotate a heavy helm, the ship turns sideways to the British frigate
It would seem an ordinary arcade minigra, but she caused a whole flurry of emotions.
Another no less exciting content layer of steel for pumping a new asylum, which is the Devendport estate here. I’ll tell you about these missions in more detail, because in combination they can be considered a full -fledged second plot line.
In cities and on the frontier of Connor, different people will come across in a difficult life situation. If you help them, it turns out that each of them owns any craft. Whether it is a black farmer, a daring hunter or a modest min. Connor will offer each of them to settle on the territory of the Davenport estate. After that, these people will really come to the land of Achilles, build their homes, plant fields, develop mines. And over time, a wild forest around the mansion will turn into a whole settlement – commune.
Each of the settlers will have their own unique daily routine, and moreover, all of them will interact not only with the player, but also with their neighbors. Women will arrange gatherings and gossip, men to go fishing together and drink beer in the tavern. And all of them will not just be soulless non-inscriptions, which are populated by Boston and New York, but worked out characters with their problems, needs and desires.
Connor, as a real landowner, will be able to receive different resources from his settlers, on which local management and craft are based. However, it will not work out the best resources at once, for this you will have to fulfill all sorts of missions related to one or another settler. And if you think that these are monotonous Grindo quineses made in the usual style of the assassin, then I hasten to please you or upset you. Because these quests are often much better than the main plot tasks, and sometimes completely unique, such as a quest in which you need to separate two constantly arguing and fighting friends of lumberjacks, or where you need to roll balls … And this is not what you thought about.
Some of these quests are completely formed into entire plot arches in which the fate of different settlers are weaving. Like quests here are a couple, in the relationship of which Connor has to perform a matchmaker, or a family of farmers, which for a long time cannot have children, but in the end they succeed, and Connor even helps to take birth. All these quests are made in conscience and fulfill them is a pleasure. The main thing is helping the next housewife to drive pigs into the corral, not by chance not to remember that this is actually a game about the Assassins and the war for the independence of the United States. Ultimately, all these straightforward plots lead to a logical tearful ending that is easily capable of wiping his nose, even the main ending.
Result
Well, finally, we got close to the end of this endless release. Let me try to somehow summarize everything that has been said and give out my opinion about the game on the mountain.
Assassin’s Creed III turned out to be the same ambiguous product as the first part. She also has malicious haters and loyal fans. She was looking forward to the first as the first to look at her with huge hopes, but in the end, many were unsatisfied and even felt deceived.
The developers promised the players a completely new product, and in the end they gave out the same thing as before, only wrapped it in a slightly different wrapper. At the same time, the game in places, unexpectedly makes a feint and acquires all the features of a masterpiece. But half an hour passes and the usual Assassin routine knocks pink glasses from the eyes. Sometimes the game manages to delight, and sometimes makes her hate. Why it happened, I have a theory that the reason for that is 2 reasons.
Firstly In the negative perception of the third part, the two previous games Brotherhood and Revelation are to blame. Both of these games could essentially fit in the DLC for the second assassin, but since the company decided to make them full -fledged parts, many developments of which were planned in Assassin’s Creed III, were introduced into these games, and already looked a second time in the three. Imagine for a minute that brotherhood and revelations do not exist at all, and the third part came out three years after the second in the form in which it came out. She would be perceived in a completely different way, because the difference between the second and third assassin is really significant.
Secondly This is still the same high -speed model of creating one game in the walls of different studios, from which Revelations had previously suffered. Alas, only after the third part of the Jubisoft finally abandoned her. Let’s look at more details. The main plot and everything connected with it was sawn by the old good anniversary Montreal – and they got one game, the content associated with Achilles and the estate sawed the studio of the Jubisoft Quebec – and they got a completely different game, the developers from the anniversary of Singapore made all naval content – and they got their own game with their atmosphere. And many more small anniversary studios around the world worked on some separate aspects of the game. And then all this was stuck in a blender and mixed, and at the output came a cocktail of herring and bananas.
First of all, this adversely affected the character of the protagonist, who is deservedly considered the worst in the series to this day. Jubisoft Montreal had his own view of the character of Connor. In plot missions, he is an unsociable, incredulous, sometimes naive, he reluctantly makes acquaintances and does not like when they violate his personal space. The developers even specifically focus on the fact that Connor experiences discomfort when other people touch him, and it was important for revealing his character, and then we come into the estate and our silent sociofob suddenly turns into a good Samaritan, it remains only to give him a guitar and sit on a fire in a circle of friends. Or here is another example for you: according to the plan of the scriptwriters, Connor, although it was wild, but at the same time believed that human life is priceless, and murder is the most extreme measure. But here we are starting to perform some side missions and our humanist pumps out the hordes of homo-spyens without blinking and eye. Because of all this, me personally throughout the game did not leave that Connor suffers from a dissociative disorder of identity (bifurcation of personality). And the final nail in the lid of the coffin of this character, becomes Hayet, on the contrast with which Connor thoroughly fades so. Sometimes it seems that the developers deliberately try to humiliate the main character.
How much pain is in this view.
But the Templar developers again managed to make not typical villains to subjugate world power, but by organizing with their principles and values that simply diverge in the views with the Assassins. The order opens from the unexpected side and we see that the Templars are the same ordinary people, prone to equally, both to self -interest and treachery and benefactors. Each of the killed by Connor has its own unique character and causes, if not compassion, then at least respect, even the Thomas Hiki ravine.
What can not be said about the allies, who will meet a lot of Assassin on the way, here you and Ben Franklin and Israel Patniy and Paul Revir and Lafayette and many more luminaries of the American Revolution. However, they all appear in the frame for a few moments and immediately disappear without opening.
Do you know why it happened? Because some, so -called fans complained that Leonardo da Vinci was too bad and not like their historical prototype. Here get George Washington and Samuel Adams. What are you saying? They are too boring and uninteresting? Well sorry, but the most realistic. Decide you want realism or artistry?
In general, the three in many ways turned out to be the opposite of the second part. If the plot was complete there, sorry for the expression, by unprofitable shit, but it was served correctly and opened through perfectly worked out characters, from which shit was sweeter than raspberries. Then here is the opposite. Globally the plot seems to be interesting and deep, he is trying to teach something and bring out some morality. But it is served in an indistinct way, somehow vomited and inconsistent. Events then stretch like a jelly, then they slip through a gallop through Europe. Absolutely faceless and unremarkable characters appear and disappear, so that in fifteen minutes they will be completely erased from memory.
It would be necessary to express some kind of final thought, but it simply does not. I don’t know this bad game or ingenious. It has an equal share of the tar and honey. I personally liked the main plot, although many do not like it. Therefore, decide for yourself. And I will finish.
Someone may not like such a bloated format, similar to a boring lecture on history diluted by my reflection, but only in this way I could fully convey the spirit of Assassin’s Creed III and show what distinguishes it from other games of the series. She not only takes and puts the plot in historical scenery, she also diligently interprets it with many historical events and personalities. This is not and will no longer be in any other part of the franchise.
