WHAT IS Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), to India
What’s ETA
An ETA is short for Electronic Travel Authorization. It is an authorization usually linked to a Travelers Passport that allows a foreign traveler to travel to India without a regular Visa. The ETA is usually for short term stays of no more than sixty days and is used for either tourism,
treatment, attending conferences, business negotiations and the likes. The ETA is not a work permit and for that reason does not give its holders the to work or make an application for work in India. An Indian ETA can be carried out online and does not usually require the Physical Existence of the applicant before it is confirmed.

The Indian Government has made the procedure of applying for the tourist’s visa online simple, but it gets the following requirements that the tourists need to satisfy;
The Indian ETA Visa is valid for only 60 days, the tourists willing to extend their stay must apply for a proper visa.
The tourists can opt for different e-Visas with respect to the reason for their travel (for example e-Tourist Visa, e-Medical Visa, e-Business Visa).
The tourists trying to get the visa must have at least 6 months passport validity (from the estimated date of arrival) along with 2 blank pages.
The travelers can enter India twice using the e-Visa.
Travelers must carry other documents that prove their identification.
The tourists from certain countries like Pakistan cannot make an application for the ETA.
Travelers can enter India from the various airports (25) and three seaports.

Trying to get visa in 3 steps
Trying to get an Indian ETA Visa is very straightforward and easy. It requires just 3 easy steps:
1. The Applicant will be required to fill out an Application form with their bio-data and other information on the application form Portal. A passport picture with a white background will be published to the portal plus a copy of the Candidates International Passport showing the Applicants Photo and Details. However, requirements may be different depending on the reason for visit i.e. an e-Medical Visa will require a copy of the letter from the Hospital concerned in India on its letterhead, for an e-Business Visa, a duplicate of your business card will be required.
2. After filling in the application form the second step will be for the Applicant to pay for the ETA Visa online, it is usually recommended for payment to be produced 4 days prior to the expected day of travel and no more than 120 days before expected departure date. Payments through BANK CARDS are accepted, Accepted Cards include; Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
3. After payments are created, the Applicant will be asked to wait for a while as the ETA Visa Application is being Processed and Verified for bad spellings and invalid Details. When the application form has been approved, the applicant will be delivered a contact confirming the Status of his Application. The Approval is usually to be printed out and proven to officials at the point of departure.
